So Saturday night took a new twist and turn of events.  I had wanted to learn some extreme makeup techniques for a while and whilst browsing on Ilamasqua’s website, I came across the Drag Star Super Hero workshop, and promptly signed up!

My sister and I travelled up to Soho for the 7pm start not really knowing what to expect.  We entered their flagship store and had a quick browse of the makeup before being taken in to their makeup school.

There were 5 of us in total and Daniel, the tutor promptly got to work giving us a demo on how to apply a drag eye design and exaggerate features before it was our turn to get stuck in!

Firstly we learnt how to brow block and apply a false eyebrow to change your expression (I’m not telling you how to, if you want to know book the course up, you won’t regret it!!).

Next we learnt how to apply cream and powder eye colours to achieve a wide eyed look.  We also learnt the importance of lines and making sure they are as accurate as possible.

Final stages were the eyeliner, where we were looking to achieve cats eyes with extreme lines.Once complete, Daniel went on to show us how to prepare drag skin.  This was the final result! (All work under taken by Daniel, Illamasqua MUA).

Lots of practice required to perfect this very complex makeup technique, but we came away having learnt lots, had tons of fun, and filled our boots with lots of lovely makeup purchases!
